On the 30th of June, we held the meeting of the European project EXPECT. The aim of this project is to see how VET can contribute to achieving climate objectives and to analyse the strategies that are being carried out in different countries. In this meeting, we analysed the context of Euskadi regarding the sustainable objectives and shared examples of good practices against climate change that we carry out in Politeknika Txorierri with partner organisations in the project from Austria, Finland, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom.
During the meeting, Marijose Ibarriola from Tknika, explained us how Tknika is working, together with the participation of public and private Basque VET centres, on the development of sustainable development goals aimed at VET centres.
On the other hand, we also invited Igotz Lopez to participate in the meeting, mayor of Zamudio, to see how they work on the SDGs from municipalities and the recycling system implemented in the “Waste 4 Think” project.
Belén Varela and Alfredo Bezos explained how Worklan’s SocialLab works to promote the social economy. SocialLab is a project to create synergies between students, teachers, companies and professionals to develop ideas and projects that provide solutions to future challenges.
David García, student of Environmental Education and Control, shared a challenge they carried out at Politeknika Txorierri where they created a fair to raise awareness among students about the SDGs established in the 2030 agenda.
